13 November 2015, Abuja – Angolan Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Eustoiquio Januorio Quibato has disclosed that as the second largest producer of petroleum in Africa, Angola had attracted investment worth of $16bn to its economy.
The ambassador called for the revisit of the political agreement signed between Nigeria and Angola which had not been implemented.
He equally said his country’s first 25 years was characterised by imperialism, political instability, terrorism, which did not allow it to grow to the present level.
Quibato however noted that Angolans were inspired by the solidarity of African brothers, especially the Congo, Nigeria, Guinea, Sudan Tanzania, Morocco, and the then Soviet Union.
According to him, these countries made a lot of sacrifice to put an end to colonialism in Africa and the then apartheid in South Africa.
The ambassador made the disclosure at a luncheon to mark Angola 40th Independence Anniversary, held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
