26 December 2014,Luanda — Angolan minister of Hotels and Tourism, Pedro Mutindi said in Luanda that the current decline in oil prices in the international market forces the ministry to take a dynamic and active role in boosting the National economy.
The government official, who was speaking at the year-end greetings ceremony with officials and employees of the ministry, said that taking into account its effect of multiplier in revenues of the State Coffer, the Angolan government’s commitment should be directed to the diversification of the economy.
He added that the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, as part of its importance, is positioned in the list of priority sectors of the Angolan economy, as it contributes a significant share in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
In this sense, he said, the tourism sector recorded in November 2014, the entry into the country of roughly 469,886 tourists from different parts of the world.
