02 January 2015, Luena — The governor of the eastern Moxico province, João Ernesto dos Santos “Liberdade” announced on Monday in Luau town the intention of his government in acquiring a new thermal station, aiming for the improvement of the power supply in Luena city.
Speaking to the press so as to assess the year 2014, the official justified the growth of Luena city, saying that the old thermal power station is no longer in condition to meet the needs of the local citizens.
To reverse this situation, the provincial governor said that his government is preparing the necessary documentation that will be submitted to the minister of Energy and Water, so that in the future the province may benefit from a new system with a greater capacity of power production and supply.
