17 January 2014, Luanda – The information on the report on the 3rd quarter of 2013 concerning the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Project is one of the highlights on the agenda for the first ordinary session of the Cabinet Council’s Economic Commission in 2014 taking place in Luanda since Thursday morning.
The meeting that is being chaired by the Head of State , José Eduardo dos Santos, is also reviewing a report on agrarian sector projects that will be inaugurated in March this year, within the framework of the Food Production Programme.
Among the points being analysed, stress goes to the implementation of the Cuito Cuanaval Battle Victory Memorial and construction of National Assembly’s Office buildings.
The session’s agenda includes draft statutes for the Angola Debt and Stock Exchange and for the Regulated Market Management Company.
The Cabinet Council’s Economic Commission is a technical body for support for the holder of the Executive Power and direct assistance to the functioning of the Cabinet Council which is tasked with dealing with the Government’s macro-economic agenda and ensuring the macro-economic management in line with the goals and priorities set under the country’s governance programme.
The holder of the Executive chairs the Cabinet Council’s Economic Commission, backed by the Vice President of the Republic.
The Cabinet Council’s Economic Commission includes the ministers of Planning and Territorial Development, Finance, Economy, Public Administration, Labour and Social Security, Commerce, Reserve Bank Governor and the advisor to the Vice President of the Republic for Economic Affairs.
