    AOW, NUPRC partner to host AFRIPERF at AOW 2025

    Lagos — The Africa Oil Week, AOW, has announced its partnership with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, to host the Annual African Regulatory Forum, AFRIPERF, within AOW 2025 in Accra, Ghana.

    This partnership signifies more than just dialogue, it is about delivering actionable change, results-driven engagement, and definitive progress that will reshape Africa’s natural resource development trajectory.
    At the core of this partnership is a commitment to harmonize petroleum regulations and standards across African nations to create a more competitive and investor-friendly environment; Enhance regulatory capacity through training and knowledge-sharing to ensure that Africa’s regulatory frameworks evolve to meet the needs of a dynamic energy landscape; Promote direct engagement between regulators, industry stakeholders, and international organizations to foster collaboration and align on global best practices.
    Engineer Gbenga Komolafe, Commission Chief Executive of NUPRC, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating: “The commitment of AFRIPERF aligns perfectly with the passion and vision of Africa Oil Week. This is a united voice for growth and change, a true game-changer for the region. We look forward to hosting regulators from across the continent in what is set to be a transformative partnership for Africa.”
    The AOW 2025, will bring together key regulatory bodies, government representatives, and industry leaders to advance dialogue, collaboration, and policy alignment across the African petroleum sector.
    A major highlight of AFRIPERF at the AOW 2025 will be the official signing of The African Petroleum Regulators Forum Charter. This Charter will define the commitment and mandate of the Founding Members of the African Petroleum Regulators Forum, reinforcing their shared responsibility to foster the sustainable growth and development of the African petroleum industry.
    The Charter underscores the dedication of African regulators to shaping a petroleum industry that is transparent, efficient, and beneficial to all stakeholders. It reflects a unified vision for harnessing Africa’s petroleum resources in a way that maximizes economic value while ensuring environmental and social responsibility.
    By signing this Charter, the Founding Members of the African Petroleum Regulators Forum affirm their commitment to ensuring that Africa’s petroleum industry plays a pivotal role in the continent’s sustainable development, energy security, and long-term prosperity.
    Through collective action and adherence to global best practices in resource management, the petroleum industry can serve as a cornerstone for Africa’s economic transformation. The collaboration of regulators, governments, industry leaders, civil societies, host communities, and international partners will drive innovation, foster investment, and create an inclusive and resilient energy sector that benefits all Africans.
    The hosting of AFRIPERF at AOW 2025 marks a significant milestone in the journey toward stronger, more harmonized regulatory frameworks across Africa.
