Lagos — Aradel Holdings Plc has launched its Employability Training Programme for 120 youths within its six host communities in PML 14, formerly OML 54 in Rivers State.

The Employability Training Programme was implemented after thorough needs assessment was completed for all six host communities. The programme reflects Aradel’s unwavering commitment to the development of its host communities, particularly in building human capacity among youths and empowering individuals to create lasting value for themselves and the society.

The Training Programme is part of Aradel’s wider strategy to ensure that youths are equipped with appropriate skills that make them attractive to employers, while also fostering resilience and innovation. The practical training focused on Crane Operations, Process Instrumentation, Scaffolding/Rope Access, Wellhead Services/Maintenance, Sandblasting and Industrial Painting, Industrial Plumbing & Aluminium Welding, and Welding & Fabrication.

Long before the enactment of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) in 2021, Aradel already pioneered the NDPR Host Communities Development Trust, which was voluntarily funded by a fixed percentage of the company’s annual profit to implement impactful programs and projects within its host communities.

Post PIA implementation, Aradel was one of the first oil companies to set up and fully fund and establish the MURALI Host Communities Development Trust. This proactive approach reflects Aradel’s belief that true corporate responsibility lies in creating sustainable solutions that support economic growth.

Adegbite Falade, Chief Executive Officer/MD, Aradel Holdings Plc commented on the launch of the Employability Training Programme, saying: “At the core of our operations is a strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, achieved through partnership with our host communities.

“The success of initiatives like this relies on the collaboration between the company and the communities we serve, together we can foster an environment where communities flourish and businesses succeed. This Training Programme showcases the transformative impact of education and skills development, helping to nurture resilient and adaptable young people who are well-prepared for today’s job market.”

The launch of the Training Programme for the Otari, Ogbele, Oshiugbokor, Omaraka, Obumeze and Rumuekpe communities was attended by representatives of the MURALI Host Communities Development Trust and Aradel Holdings Plc.
