16 March 2015, News Wires – Australia-listed Matrix Composites & Engineering has secured deep-water drilling buoyancy orders worth a combined US$32.2 million.
Matrix said a number of the orders were for an unnamed shipyard whose client had never used the company’s buoyancy for any of their previous new-builds.
The remaining contracts included the after-market sale of a 12,000-foot ultra-light riser buoyancy extension and a 10,000-foot buoyancy string for a new-build drillship which is currently under construction at an unnamed Brazilian shipyard.
The awards take Matrix’s backlog, as of 28 February, to US$89.4 million.
