27 July 2017, Sweetcrude, Abuja — The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, yesterday, said it is yet to confirm from the military authorities, the rescue of its personnel in the Boko Haram attack in Borno State.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Chairman of the NNPC Board, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu stated that it is aware of reconnaissance efforts by the military to rescue the victims but it cannot confirm the casualties and number of people rescued at the moment.
He also stated that exploration activities would resume in the Lake Chad Basin after sufficient security is provided by the military.
