09 December 2014, News wires – Africa-focused Bowleven has been granted a one-year extension to the Bomono exploration licence onshore Cameroon.
The company will have until December next year to allow for the completion of operations.
Preparations are under way for two exploration wells at the Bomono licence, with the rig already mobilised to site.
Drilling is expected to start around the end of the year.
The Zingana-1 and Moambe-1 probes will target stacked objectives in the Tertiary and are due to take around 45 days each to drill.
Bowleven previously said two shallow sands are most likely to be gas-condensate bearing, while deeper sands could hold oil.
