10 September 2013, News Wires – Canada’s Antrim Energy reported Tuesday that routine maintenance on the North Cormorant platform in the UK North Sea has begun and that oil production from the associated Causeway Field is currently shut in.
The maintenance work is expected to interrupt production from the Causeway and Cormorant fields for approximately six weeks. Production rates from Causeway are expected to rise with the start-up of electrical submersible pumps, which are planned to be deployed soon after production resumes. Water injection at Causeway is currently scheduled to begin during the second half of 2014.
The Causeway Field is located on UK production licenses P1383 Block 211/23d, where Antrim has a 35.5-percent working interest. Cormorant East is on license P201 Block 211/22a, in which Antrim holds 8.4 percent.
