22 January 2014, News Wires – Aberdeen’s Dana Petroelum has kicked off a 350-square kilometre 2D seismic survey at its Bakassi West shallow-water block off southwest Cameroon.
The explorer, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korean National Oil Corporation, said that BGP would acquire the data at the block over the next six months.
Dana Petroleum hopes to sink its first well on the Rio Del Ray basin licence in late 2015 or early 2016.
The explorer operates the Bakassi West production sharing contract on a 55% stake with partners Calgary’s Madison Petrogas on 35% and local player SoftRock Oil & Gas on 10%.
