30 April 2014, News Wires – Norwegian seismic player Norway’s Dolphin Geophysical was awarded a contract to acquire around 3000 square kilometres of 3D seismic data in the Black Sea region.
The Oslo-listed contractor’s survey vessel Polar Marquis is to mobilise in mid-May for the survey upon the start of the time charter.
Chief executive Atle Jacobsen credited the strength of the company’s high-capacity 3D seismic vessels for the latest award.
He said that the Polar Marquis would utilise 14 seismic cables with 100 metres separation and 6000 metres length on her first survey.
In March the vessel was provisionally allocated for a four-month charter off East Africa to start in September with an undisclosed client.
