    DPR seals six filling stations in Sokoto

    21 April 2016, Sokoto — The Department of Petroleum Resources ( DPR), Sokoto Zonal Operations Office, Wednesday sealed six petrol filling stations in the Sokoto metropolis.

    Fuel-pump-360x270The Head Retail Outlets and Marketing, Mr. Nura Kamba, made the disclosure yesterday, shortly after an enforcement exercise of the government approved pump prices of petroleum products in the state.

    According to him, the sealed filling stations belonged to independent marketers in the state.

    Kamba said all the filling stations were sealed for selling the product above the pump price of N86.50 per liter.

    He stated that all the sealed filling stations were also fined N 100,000 per each pump.

    Kamba explained that the filling stations were compelled to dispense the product at N86.50,while officials of the agency will monitor the sales.

    He further said the Department has taken measures to nab and reprimand all the filling stations selling the commodity at night and in the early hours.

    “The operations will be sustained to ensure that the motorists are not cheated as the products are now being made more available by the NNPC,”Kamba added.
