Lagos — The Energy Institute (EI), UK at its 2022 Celebrating Excellence In Energy award night honoured APPO’s Secretary General, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim with the Energy Leader award in recognition of his hard work in steering the course of the African oil and gas industry.
The Energy Leader category is one of the ten categories of the award which Includes Access to Energy, Energy Leader, Energy Management, Environment, Health and Safety, Innovative Technology, Low carbon, Public Engagement, Talent Development and Learning, Young Energy Professional of the year.
A total of six of persons including Rebekah Shirley, World Resources Institute, Abdulaziz Al-Qasim, Saudi Aramco, Rinaldo Brutoco, H2 Clipper, Inc. Mukabanji Mutanuka, Engie Power Corner Zambia, Bobo Ng, North-East Local Enterprise Partnership were considered for the Energy leader category. In the words of The Energy Institute “Dr Ibrahim has championed the industry, promoted knowledge, developed staff, improved skills and encouraged best practice.”
The Energy Institute supports the global energy industry and produces a wide range of technical guidance materials, research papers, and standards. Its publications cover a variety of subjects, including pipelines, road tankers, and refineries.
Most of EI’s works are sponsored by its technical partners which enable the institute to provide the industry with knowledge on important contemporary issues in the energy sector that is both affordable and valuable.
