10 September 2014, Lagos – The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has called on members and oil companies to acquire infrared equipment to detect employees and clients infected with Ebola virus.
Mr Chinedu Okoronkwo, National President of IPMAN told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Lagos that the advice was necessary to check the scourge of the disease.
Okoronkwo said the national body had organised series of sensitisation workshops on preventive measures for members and urged other state executives to follow suit.
He advised proprietors of schools as well as religious leaders to introduce cleaning of hands with sanitisers by their pupils and worshippers to avoid the spread of Ebola virus.
“This preventive measures are also applicable to health workers as well as market women to ensure the disease is wiped out of the country.
“Barbers and hairdressing saloons should also ensure proper sterilisation of their tools to curb the spread of Ebola virus,’’ the IPMAN president said.
