09 November 2014, Luanda — A programme called Green Wave consisting in replacing high consumption bulbs with low consuming ones was launched Thursday in Luanda?s high density municipality of Cazenga by the local Electricity Company, EDEL, Angop learned.
This was during a ceremony presided over by the minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges.
The Ministry of Energy and Water’s initiative that went under the auspices of the Angolan Government, aims at exchanging incandescent for fluorescent low energy consuming bulbs.
The project is part of national plan being implemented as a three-month pilot experience in Luanda.
A total of six million lamps has been made available for the programme.
