08 February 2014, Nairobi – Kenyans wishing to connect power to their homes would have to pay over 40,000 shillings more.
Kenya Power has raised the connection fees to 75,000 shillings up from 35,000 shillings.
Energy secretary Davis Chirchir says consumers will be asked to apply for loans to fund new connections.
