6 October 2014, News Wires – Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has been awarded a $6.8 million contract to carry out a survey off Malaysia.
The Oslo-listed contractor will deploy its vessel BOA Thalassa to acquire 3D electromagnetic data for an unidentified international oil company, with the work to kick off following a Singapore inspection of the unit later this month.
EMGS chief executive Roar Bekker said the contract was the first of several new projects in Asia, where the company sees increasing demand for electromagnetic data, and it intends to maintain one operating vessel in the region throughout 2015.
