10 September 2015, News Wires – Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) is mobilising its vessel BOA Galatea to start work on a 3D survey for Pemex in the Gulf of Mexico next week.
The one-month survey is part of an ongoing electromagnetic data acquisition effort by EMGS in the North American country’s newly opened offshore sector as it targets funding for further work in connection with upcoming licensing rounds.
The Oslo-listed player recently secured a permit from the authorities for the acquisition of 88,000 square kilometres of data in the Salina de Itsmo basin off southern Mexico as part of a multi-client survey.
EMGS is being forced to pare back its fleet due to a work drought in its main North Sea market due to industry cutbacks and low oil prices.
