28 November 2013, News Wires – Australian junior Neon Energy said it understands the typhoon season that has caused ruination in the South China Sea is over, and its drilling operations off Vietnam can progress as planned.
The company is participating in the drilling of two simultaneous exploration wells – Ca Ngu-1 in Block 120 and Cua Lo-1 in Block 105.
Neon said on Wednesday that, in relation to Ca Ngu-1, “operations to date have been affected by exceptionally severe weather and related ocean conditions”.
“Neon understands that the region’s typhoon season is now over, and anticipates that operations can now progress as originally planned.”
Joint venture partners in both wells are operator Eni, Singapore’s KrisEnergy and Neon.
