29 October 2014, Lagos—Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola and CET Power Limited will today commission the 8.8MW Mainland Independent Power Project, IPP, to further boost electricity supply in the state.
The Mainland IPP will provide uninterrupted 24-hour power supply to the State public institutions within the Government Reservation Area, GRA, Ikeja.
The institutions include Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Lagos State University College of Medicine, LASUCOM, Old Secretariat complex, High Court complex, Lagos Water Corporation and over 20 kilometres of existing public lighting.
General Manager, Lagos State Electricity Board, LSEB, Mrs. Damilola Ogunbiyi, said that the power project is a Public Private Partnership, PPP, between the state government and CET Power Limited, one of the largest indigenous IPP providers in the country.
