Port Harcourt — A minor fire incident on Saturday rocked some parts of the Port Harcourt Refinning Company in Alesa, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The cause of the fire incident has not yet been ascertained, as at the time of filing this report.
A source privy to the incident the fire incident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, explained that though the fire was a very minor one, occured during operations.
“It was just a minor fire incident during operation. No live was lost, no property was destroyed and the fire was immediately put out.”
It will be recalled that the Port Harcourt Refinery is currently undergoing rehabilitation by an Italian firm, Maire Tecnimont SPA, at the cost of $1.5billion.
