21 January 2014, News Wires – Norway’s Det Norske Oljeselskap has appointed a former Statoil executive as its senior vice president of exploration.
The company revealed Gro G Haatvedt had been appointed to the position having previously served as senior vice president for exploration on the Norwegian Continental Shelf for Statoil before leaving that role on 1 January.
Haatvedt said it was “impossible” not to accept the job offer from Det Norske.
“I am looking forward to start working for Det Norske. It is a very exciting task to build a solid company forward,” she said.
“Det Norske already has a considerable portfolio and my main responsibility is to strengthen this further. I look very much forward to meet a competent and energetic organisation.”
Haatvedt was Statoil’s senior vice president of exploration on the NCS for three years, overseeing several large discoveries including the Johan Sverdrup discovery.
Det Norske said Haatvedt’s start date was yet to be decided but added that it would be no later than August this year.
