28 February 2016, Makurdi – The scarcity of fuel, which began in Benue State last weekend has continued to bite harder as many filling stations remain shut due to perceived lack of the product.
Long queues are witnessed in a few petrol stations that have the product in Makurdi metropolis with only major marketers selling at the government-approved price of N86 per liter.
Investigation by The Guardian round the capital city Wednesday revealed that only the NNPC mega station along new Otukpo road and a few major marketers like Rainoil Oil on Modern, Market Junction, Total filling station located on Kashim Ibrahim road and opposite Federal Road Safety Commission were selling the product at the approved price.
The Zonal Controller of Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, Benjamin Ewuga, said his teams are on ground to assess the situation for necessary action.
