21 August 2015, Abuja – The forum of Nigerian governors is set to assist the federal government to mainstream a strong policy towards improving the generating capacity of the power sector in Nigeria.
This is part of the issues the governors discussed during their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Thursday.
The Chairman of the forum, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, made this known after the meeting which had 26 governors in attendance.
The Governors Forum, according to him, called for a comprehensive power sector policy, and strategy to address the situation.
Yari said the governors also discussed some of the issues they hope to address when they meet with the United Nations’ Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, who will be visiting Nigeria over the weekend.
