06 June 2018, News Wires – Israel is planning to put to tender a 500 megawatt solar energy project, which would be the country’s largest, the Energy Ministry has said.

Plans for the photovoltaic field, which will be built by one or more groups near the southern Israeli town of Dimona, were approved by the government’s National Infrastructure Committee, though they still need final endorsement from the government.

Most of the project will be put to tender by the start of 2020, the ministry said in a statement. It did not provide financial details.
