20 August 2015, News Wires – Japanese contractor JGC has won a contract from Saudi Aramco to build facilities for a shale gas development in Saudi Arabia, according to a report.
JGC won the tender to provide processing systems, wellheads and pipelines for the System A project in Turaif, Reuters reported, citing unidentified industry sources.
There has been no official of the award, which has been delayed as Aramco extended the bidding deadline.
Capacity at the gas gathering facilities is set to come in a 66 million cubic feet per day of gas, up from 50 MMcfd when the project was first put out to tender, Reuters said.
Saudi Arabia is keen to develop its vast shale gas resources to feet soaring domestic demand for energy.
