09 May 2017 Nairobi –Kenya is modifying the operations of its existing oil refinery,
Andrew Kamau,Petroleum Principal Secretary, has revealed.
Kamau said the Petroleum ministry is upgrading the refinery to enable oil flow in reverse directions, from onshore storage tanks through the pipeline to ships and from ships to the tanks.
This is in preparation for commencement of crude exports next month.
According to Kamau, the first oil tankers will arrive the port of Mombasa in June to load crude oil.
