02 February 2016, Abakaliki – An Abakaliki -based Lawyer, Emmanuel Nwafor, has been arraigned before Ebonyi State Magistrate court for allegedly stealing property of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) worth over N107, 000.
Nwafor allegedly clashed with officials of the power distribution company over electricity bills and disconnection of his apartment from power source and he seized property belonging to the company.
After the clash, the lawyer was arraigned on a three- count charge of stealing and assault.
According to court records, the Lawyer on December 15, 2015 at No. 47 Nsugbe Street, Abakaliki, in company of others at large allegedly stole one ladder valued at N100,000, one belt valued at N6,000, two pliers valued at N600, two screw drivers valued at N200, hand glove valued at N200 and electric fuse valued at N300.
He was also accused of assaulting one Onyinze Emmanuel, a staff of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company who was on duty.
