22 March 2016, London — OPEC member Libya does not plan to attend an April 17 oil producer meeting about freezing production to support prices because it wants to increase output when the situation allows, a Libyan OPEC delegate said.
“We are not going,” the delegate said, referring to the meeting in Doha next month.
Libya pumped 1.6 million barrels per day, b/d, of crude before the 2011 civil war. Output has been slowed by continued unrest and is currently below 400,000 b/d.
