Port Harcourt — In a bid to sustain the progress recorded in Nigeria’s petroleum sector in 2024, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has called for enhanced collaboration among stakeholders across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.

Speaking at the Petroleum Industry Stakeholders Forum, PISF, Lokpobiri highlighted the transformative measures implemented under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration, which he said have driven significant growth and economic stability.

The Minister attributed the successes to the collective efforts of stakeholders, emphasizing that innovation and investment have thrived due to their contributions.

“These measures have catalyzed significant growth and economic stability for the nation, fostering an enabling environment for innovation and investment,” the minister said.

Lokpobiri also urged stakeholders to strengthen partnerships in policy formulation, operational strategies, and long-term projections, moving away from isolated approaches to achieve a sustainable and autonomous petroleum sector.

“By working together, we can simplify Mr. President’s vision of an autonomous, self-sustaining petroleum sector while ensuring the industry continues to flourish,” Lokpobiri added.

The forum, which marked the beginning of the 2025 agenda for the sector, will serve as a platform for critical discussions aimed at driving sustainable growth and consolidating last year’s achievements.
