29 May 2017, Sweetcrude, Lagos – The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, and Dangote Industries Limited are collaborating to maximise capacity utilisation at the proposed Dangote refinery.
The two organisations agreed on the collaboration when the Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Mr. Simbi Wabote, led a team from the board to meet with the management of the Dangote Group, led by its President, Aliko Dangote, in Lagos.
NCDMB revealed in a statement that Dangote Industries is committed to utilisation of certified Nigerian service companies for the fabrication of modules, pipe coating as well as the supply of paints and cables, among others.
The stated added that NCDMB and Dangote Industries will hold technical meetings and undertake a tour of the project site to examine extensively other Nigerian content opportunities that could be utilised on the project.
“There are a number of opportunities for collaboration. We want to partner with you (the NCDMB) and we hope to have mutually beneficial relationships,” Honorary Adviser to the President, Dangote Group, Mr. Joseph Makoju, stated as he disclosed the Group’s plan to to set a record on local content accomplishment with the petrochemicals plant and the refinery.
