25 November 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos — Number of firms granted the ‘No Objection’ in the Metre Access Providers, MAP, by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, keeps rising, SweetcrudeReports can authoritatively report.
A newly drafted list seen by this newspaper as at Thursday showed that the number has grown to 115 as against 101 as at October.
The newly added companies include, Afri Crown Ventures Limited, Bestyce Nigeria Limited, Beacon Energy Development Services Limited, Omal Continental Business Services Limited, Bel Power Limited, Everus Integrated Limited, Koby Global Engineering Services Limited, Klartek Nigeria Limited, City Matrix Nigeria Limited, Erasko Energy Limited, AKP Technique Limited, Misiweng Company Limited, Telecard Pribor Nigeria Limited, and Hybrid Oil & Gas Services Limited.
Those added in October were; Gospell Digital Technology Limited; G-Unit Engineering Limited; Stag Engineering Nigeria Limited; Lafred Engineering Limited; Omniswift Nigeria Limited; Integrated Resources Limited; Yutali Nigeria Limited; Chris-Ejik International Agencies Limited; FLT Energy System Limited; G5 Utilities Solutions Limited; PPC Limited and Afro Chinese Infrastructure Investment Limited.
The first list released in May had 22 firms, after which another 13 was added in June.
Huawei Technology Company Nigeria Limited; Bilview Energy Limited; Chintech Electro Nigeria Limited; Holley Metering Limited; Meron Nigeria Limited; Integrated Power Limited; MBH Power Limited; Trimani Engineering Limited; Sapropel Energy Resources Limited; Megawatt Distribution International Limited; Unistar Hi-Tech Systems Limited; MOMAS Electricity Meters Manufacturing Company Limited, Imperial Infrastructure Development Company Limited; Mojec International Limited and others, were part of the first and second list.
Successful bidders from procurement process will obtain the Meter Asset Provider Permit from the Commission after entering into a Metering Service Agreement with electricity distribution companies.
Services to be provided by Meter Asset Providers will among others include financing, procurement, installation, repair and replacement of electricity meters according to the MAP Regulations 2018.
