29 May 2016, Abuja — Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele yesterday faulted the queries of Auditor-General for the Federation, Mr. Samuel Ukura, on the annual report of the bank.
Ukura had in a report submitted to the Senate read by the chairman of Public Accounts, Senator Andy Uba, said the CBN has not submitted its annual reports for 2012, 2013 and 2014.
But in his response, Emefiele, represented by a Deputy Governor of the bank, Bayo Adelabu, faulted the Auditor-General office claims.
” We cannot afford to take the issue of account with levity because we are regulators. We have submitted up to 2014, probably there is a mixed up. The only outstanding was just for 2014 and we have since done so,” he said.
