10 January 2016, Kaduna — Kaduna Electric and two ICT companies, Omniswift and Topup Africa, have signed an agreement to deploy GPRS and mobile technology into the electricity company’s billing system.
The company’s Head of ICT Department, Malam Yasir Abdulsalam, who disclosed this at a media briefing on Friday in Kaduna, said Omniswift would evolve a new system known as Utilibill.
Abdulsalam, who said the system was developed by an Australian ICT expert, added that Topup Africa would act as a payment collection partner.
He said that the CRM application would be used to integrate and harmonise both the post and pre-paid customers of the company into one billing system.
According to him, the initiatives would guarantee efficiency in bills generation and ease of payment of bills by customers.
Abdulsalam said with the agreement, the two companies would supply POS and mobile devices, including bluetooth mobile printers installed with application to carry out transactions such as payments and billing.
The initiatives, he added, would give the customers access to their account details, plug revenue leakages and offer customers many transaction options.
