06 February 2013, Sweetcrude, WARRI – A passenger aircraft registered to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has overshot the runway at the Osubi Airport, near Warri, in Delta State.
It was not clear what caused the incident, but a top government official confirmed the incident, “Yes, it happened on Wednesday afternoon, nobody was injured, it was actually a minor incident”.
His words, “What happened was that the NNPC plane overshot the runway and kind of crash landed, but the situation was managed carefully by the pilot and nobody was injured”.
The identity of the people on board the aircraft could not be verified at the time of filing this report, but it was gathered that normalcy was quickly restored after the incident.
