    NNPC visits pipeline fire site

    Lagos — General Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mallam Mele Kyari, represented by the Managing Director, Pipeline Petroleum Marketing Company, PPMC, Isiyaku Abdullahi, has paid a visit to the site of pipeline fire in Iyana-Odo/Baruwa Axis of Lagos.

    The GMD/CEO on Friday said the visit was to ascertain the extent of the incident.

    According to the GMD/CEO, already, NNPC officials are working with the Lagos State Government and other relevant authorities to permanently put off the fire.

    He assured Nigerians that the development will not disrupt supply and distribution of petroleum products in the Lagos area and beyond.

    His visit comes following the fire incident which was as a result of powerline collapse on a section of System 2B pipeline within the area.
