Port Harcourt — In a bid to strengthen energy cooperation, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd. and Vitol, a leading global energy and commodities company, have held high-level discussions on the sidelines of CERAWeek 2025 in Houston, USA.
The meeting, which took place at NNPC Ltd.’s stand, was led by NNPC’s Executive Vice President Upstream, Udy Ntia, and EVP Gas, Power, and New Energy, Olalekan Ogunleye.
The duo received Vitol’s Group CEO, Russell Hardy, as both organizations explored potential areas of collaboration beyond commodity trading.
Speaking on the partnership, Udy Ntia emphasized the need to “broaden cooperation beyond traditional commodity trading and explore joint projects that will drive value for both parties.”
Similarly, Olalekan Ogunleye highlighted the importance of strategic alliances in the evolving energy landscape, stating, “As NNPC Ltd. continues its transformation, we are keen on partnerships that will enhance our gas, power, and new energy aspirations.”
On his part, Vitol’s CEO, Russell Hardy, described Nigeria as a key market for the company, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening business ties with NNPC Ltd.
“We see immense potential in deepening our engagement with NNPC Ltd. and look forward to identifying projects that align with our shared growth ambitions,” he said.
