02 March 2016, Lagos – Kate Ezeanya of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC Monday won the first gold medal at the ongoing Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games after defeating Mrs Mfon, representing Petroleum Training Institute in a pulsating Squash Racquet match in the veterans category.
Ezeanya won the match in two straight sets.
Reacting after her triumph at the Squash courts of Ikoyi Club 1938, beautiful Ezeanya said, “I want to thank the management of NETCO and NNPC for giving us the chance to come and compete among our colleagues. I am happy with this gold but I have my eyes set on the singles title. The veterans medal alone is not enough for me and my management expects more from me.”
Meanwhile, the competition continues today at the Chevron Recreation Centre Gbagada and Ikoyi Club 1938.
