The chartered-in Norwegian subsea construction vessel Havila Harmony will join the search for missing flight MH370 in early December.
The vessel will deploy an Echo Surveyor VII underwater vehicle, which has an underwater camera, in the search for the Boeing 777-200ER that vanished on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on 8 March 2014 with 12 Malaysian crew and 227 passengers onboard.
The Havila Harmony will first undergo some calibration tests off Fremantle, Western Australia, before beginning its search around 3 December, complete with a crew of 40.
It will join the Fugro Discovery and Fugro Equator, which are already involved in the search.
When the plane disappeared, initial searches concentrated on the South China Sea, Gulf of Thailand, Strait of Malacca and Andaman Sea, before moving to the southern Indian Ocean west of Australia.
The only trace of the airplane so far has been a piece of wing debris that washed up on Reunion Island in July.
