16 October 2012, Sweetcrude, LAGOS – NIGERIA’s integrated energy group, Oando, and partners Energia have sunk a fresh appraisal probe at the Ebendo field to evaluate the potential reserves of their latest oil find onshore Nigeria.
Oando Energy Resources and Energia said EB-5, spud on 12 October, had reached 4000 feet on its way to a total depth of 10,000 feet.
The appraisal well aims to evaluate secondary medium sands found with EB-4, another appraisal well which is to be completed as a dual-producer after encountering hydrocarbons during the summer and later testing at 2400 barrels of oil per day.
Nigerian private Energia operates the field on a 55% stake, with Toronto-listed compatriot independent Oando Energy Resources holding 42.75%.
