15 February 2017, Sweetcrude, Lagos — Nigeria’s Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday said the country needs to offer work to illegal refiners in Niger Delta to achieve peace in the region.
Osinbajo who stated this in Rivers State capital, Port Harcourt during his visit geared towards restoring peace in Nigeria’s oil region said: “Our approach to that is that we must engage them (illegal refiners) by establishing modular refineries so that they can participate in legal refineries.”
He informed high dignitaries present during his visit that government has recognised that young men must be properly engaged noting that “we have to make more provisions for amnesty and provisions for social intervention.”
