Mkpoikana Udoma 07 March 2017, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt – The Inspector General of Police’s Special Taskforce on Oil Theft and Pipeline Vandalism has arraigned two suspected oil thieves before the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.
According to the Police, the suspects, Yakubu Bala and Yahaya Abdullahi, were arrested on Saturday, 11th of February 2017, at Trailer Park axis of Onne, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The suspects are arraigned on a five count charge bothering on adulteration of petroleum products, trading of illegal petroleum products, and forgery of invoice and stamps of multinational oil companies.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the five count charges.
Meanwhile, the court granted bail to the first accused person, Yakubu Bala, in the sum of N1million and two sureties in like sum, one of which must be a senior civil servant while the other surety must own a landed property in Port Harcourt.
