IR Iran, a Founding Member of OPEC, is now holding the Oil and Gas Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, from 6 to 9 May 2014, for the 19th year running. A delegation is representing the Vienna-based Organization at the fair, which every year attracts numerous international companies, as well as many countries.
IR Iran’s Minister of Petroleum, HE Eng. Bijan Namdar Zangeneh, spoke at the opening to an enthusiastic crowd about foreign cooperation, local entrepreneurship, creating a fair and transparent contracting system, downstream developments, as well as energy optimization and international sanctions.
“I see a bright future for the oil and gas industry,” he said. Attendance in general is higher than at previous exhibitions, including representation from foreign companies, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for and interest in Iran’s oil and gas industry. The number of foreign countries represented at the event has more than doubled to 36 this year from 15 last year, according to opening speeches.
