21 March 2014, News Wires – Islamabad-based Petroleum Exploration has come up dry with the Haleema-1 well on the Badin IV South Block in Pakistan.
The well was drilled to a total depth of 1849 metres and intersected the target sands in the Lower Goru close to prognosis.
However, joint venture partner Jura Energy said interpretation of open hole wireline logs showed the formations were water bearing. As a result the well was plugged and abandoned without testing.
Prior to drilling Jura had estimated the Haleema prospect to hold a prospective resource potential of 10 million barrels.
