*Diesel price drops by 0.34 percent

25 July 2018, Sweetcrude, Lagos — Nigerians paid an average price of N148 per litre for Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in June.
According to newly released statistics by the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, the average price paid by consumers for petrol in the month under review decreased by -1.5% year-on-year and -1.4% month-on-month to N148.1 in June 2018 from N150.2 in May 2018.
States that paid the highest average price for petrol were Borno (N162.17), Kebbi (N158.24) & Sokoto (N154.20).
States with the lowest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Lagos (N144.90), Abuja (N144.50) & Oyo (N144.30).
Likewise, the average price paid by consumers for automotive gas oil (diesel) decreased by 0.34% month-on-month and 2.59% year-on-year to N204.97 in June 2018 from to N205.67 in May 2018.
States that paid the highest average price of diesel were Taraba (N255.12) Gombe (N288.02) and Kebbi (N227.50), while those with the lowest average price of diesel were Abuja (N185.03), Adamawa (N180.00) and Nasarawa (N175.41).
