Lagos — The Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, has received a delegation from the Air Force Institute of Technology, AFIT, at the PTDF Towers, Abuja.

Leading the delegation, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun, Commandant of AFIT, congratulated the Executive Secretary on his recent appointment, noting that “his reputation precedes him.” He commended Professor Aliyu’s distinguished record of service and expressed confidence in his leadership of the Fund.

The AFIT delegation also highlighted the longstanding and productive relationship between PTDF and the Institute, particularly in the area of capacity development. They referenced the existing Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between both institutions and expressed their commitment to renewing and strengthening the partnership for greater mutual benefit.

In his response, Professor Aliyu reaffirmed PTDF’s unwavering commitment to human capital development and capacity building. He assured the delegation that the Fund would continue to deepen and strengthen its collaboration with AFIT in pursuit of shared objectives.

The Executive Secretary further disclosed that PTDF is exploring additional areas of collaboration beyond its traditional intervention programmes and scholarship schemes. He noted that the Fund is particularly interested in leveraging strategic partnerships to support key initiatives such as the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Kaduna, with the aim of safeguarding the Fund’s long-term corporate interests while creating sustainable platforms for excellence in petroleum and energy education.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing research, innovation, and capacity development in support of Nigeria’s strategic human capital and technological advancement goals.
