14 January 2018, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt — The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has sacked three Caretaker Committee Chairmen in the state for allegedly collecting illegal revenues from companies.
Although the identities of the affected firms have not been disclosed, the affected Local Governments are Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor, and Ikwerre Local Government Areas.
A Statement by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, said Governor Wike has approved the sack of the three Caretaker Chairmen.
Nwakaudu in the statement noted that the sack of the three Caretaker Committee Chairmen takes immediate effect.
