Lagos — Schneider Electric, the world’s most sustainable company and a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation has announced the immediate availability of the GoPact MCCB (Moulded Case Circuit Breaker) and the GoPact MTS (Manual Transfer Switch) to the West African region.

The GoPact MCCB and GoPact MTS form part of Schneider Electric’s entry-level market offering which comprises cost-effective electrical products that offer robustness and simplicity without compromising on the company’s quality assurance.

The products suited to a variety of simple and non-critical applications such as low- to medium-density commercial buildings, cluster housing complexes, retail stores, mini-sub applications, and other non-critical industry applications.

“GoPact is crucial to the West African market because of the value it brings to our distribution channel and their customers. It is an affordable offering, which helps us compete with low-cost brands from India and China which have entered the marketplace quite aggressively,” says Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager, Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa.

“While our premium products mainly focus on large projects and critical buildings, Schneider Electric’s GoPact products can be used for loose component fittings in less critical applications. It fits well in non-type tested enclosures, making it easier to sell in markets with more affordable panels,” he explains.

“Another important value proposition of the GoPact MCCB for example is the adjustable trip unit, which allows for flexibility in application. It can handle various electrical faults, such as short circuits and overloads, while offering basic selectivity, with the second breaking mechanism reducing fault current twice to enhance its suitability for minimal selectivity. “Additionally, the GoPact MCCB comes in 3P3D and 4P4D, with all the phases protected,” explains Olaniyan.

Thanks to robust design and optimised manufacturing processes, Schneider Electric GoPact MCCB and GoPact MTS’s features include:

    GoPact MCCB
    – Current Ratings – up to 800 amps.
    – Offers breaking capacities of up to 70kA.
    – Trip units come with options for fixed, adjustable, and electronic trip units, providing flexibility for various applications.
    – Sustainable packaging which includes 100% recycled cartons with QR codes for paperless documentation access2.

    GoPact MTS
    – Current Ratings – from 63 to 2000 amps.
    – Designed to be compact, optimizing space and installation efficiency.
    – Ease of installation which include swivelling terminal shrouds, staggered terminals, and pre-installed bridging busbars for faster and safer installation.
    – Compliance – meets IEC60947-6-1 and IEC60947-3 standards, ensuring high reliability and safety.
