28 June 2018, Sweetcrude, Warri — The Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikewoli, has called on all stakeholders in the Nigerian port industry particularly Delta Ports to support and cooperate with the current management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA with a view to having a seamless port operation.
The king also said that such cooperation and support will go a long way in assisting the Managing Director of NPA, Ms. Hadiza Bala Usman in her effort in the transformation agenda she has brought to the agency and the industry at large.
While praying for the Managing Director to succeed in her assignment, he said the people are excited and happy about the dredging of Escravos channel which he said will boost the economy of Delta state,
“Nigerian Ports Authority remains part of my family and that is why I am always happy to associate with the organization”
“The effort of the current management has transformed the fortunes of the ports in my domain, namely Warri, Koko and Sapele ports which have been dormant over the years.” The Olu said
The Managing Director who represented by the Executive Director, Dr. Senkote Davis said ‘Since the last Stakeholders’ Meeting, several positive developments had been achieved by this management. The entire port is fully illuminated. The Executive Management is equally giving befitting attention to our channels’.
“Now that management is ready, we beg for your cooperation. We cannot stop this government from doing what we cannot do.
“We are here as a family, urging both hands to wash each other”. He added
Earlier in his remarks, the Port Manager of Delta ports, Warri, Mr Simon Okeke disclosed that Warri port has never had it this good and commended the present executive management for providing the infrastructure that is making Warri port to function optimally.
